When you visit Curious Hedgehogs Nursery Stockwood, you’ll notice that we don’t look like other nurseries in Bristol. You’ll see that we love using recycled and real-life items, rather than plastic toy replicas.

Our nursery is filled with authentic treasures and open-ended materials. The sort of items you just wouldn’t see at other nurseries! This is because we know that when children are allowed to use their imaginations, the possibilities are endless.

We’re an accredited ‘The Curiosity Approach’ setting so we embrace an exciting child development approach that is designed to inspire young minds and create the curious thinkers and doers of the future.

Our unique learning spaces awaken children’s creativity, helping them to develop a wide range of skills. By doing this, we teach our children HOW to think, not what to think.

The best start to your child’s education

As an Ofsted registered nursery and pre-school, our learning activities cover the Early Years Foundation Stage, including Mathematics, Communication and Expressive Arts and Design.

We work closely with parents to support our children’s learning and development. You’ll have access to a fabulous online learning journal, so you can see what your child is getting up to at nursery from home. We’ll also assign you your own ‘key person’ and organise regular parents’ evenings too!

Delicious and healthy nursery food

As well as giving our children the best in education, we provide them with delicious high-quality food! Our healthy meals and snacks are freshly prepared each day and are absolutely bursting with fresh fruit, meat and vegetables.

To encourage a love of healthy food, we also involve our children in food preparation. We’ll teach your little one about cooking and growing their own fruit and vegetables in our very own allotment.
